DOVE Missions Helps Haitian Children in Crisis

Haitian children face tremendous hardships trying to survive amidst pervasive poverty and the rubble of a catastrophic earthquake.  Displaced Haitians cannot seek refuge in the neighboring Dominican Republic.  Haitian orphans urgently need shelter, sustenance, and people to care for them.

In 2010, DOVE Missions partnered with Our Lady of Perpetual Help Orphanage in Cap Haitian, Haiti to create a safe haven for children orphaned by the devastating earthquake.  Our Lady of Perpetual Help Orphanage is licensed by the Haitian government.  The orphanage is located in Cap Haitian, 4 hours from DOVE’s Youth Developmen Center in Puerto Plata.  The orphanage currently serves as home and school for 20+ Haitian orphans.

With proven success in the Dominican Republic, DOVE has implemented similar programs in Haiti at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Orphanage.  The goal of the program is to see that all children are sponsored and to ensure the money is used for similar needs including food for the home, clothing and shoes for the children, and basic hygiene needs.
